Rock Realms doesn't cover best-ofs, singles, or anything other than rock and metal. We don't do fads, we aren't trying to be trendy. We are fiercely independent and tell you what WE think, not what we've been told to tell you. You should still formulate your own opinions and only use ours as, at best, a guide to making any purchasing decisions.
The albums covered on this site will more often than not be the European or UK edition, therefore you may need to research track lists for your own market. Rock Realms cannot guarantee the information we give is correct. If you see anything which is obviously wrong, please Contact Rock Realms and let us know. Thanks!
Rock Realms are big on accessibility and we do our best to adhere to web standards rules. We want this website to be usable for everybody. We do change our opinions sometimes! All ratings are subject to alterations both upwards and downwards. If we loved an album when it came out and later decide it's a pile of cack, we'll change the score. We'll also do this if we hated it, then decide we love it - we can swing both ways, so to speak.
Our album review scores are based on a number of criteria:
- How well written the music and lyrics are
- How original it all is
- How catchy individual songs are
- How impressive the musicianship and singing are
- How crisp, or just how appropriate the production is
- How much we actually like the album (pure gut feeling) and how much we think other people will like it
Therefore, please read the review text as well as simply viewing the score, as albums can score highly for technical ability but still not be that enjoyable.. and vice versa.
