Album Review: Pump (1989)
For fans of: blues rock... and vehicular pornography
Although there are some indisputable classics on here, 'Love In An Elevator' and 'Janie's Got A Gun' being obvious examples, this album fails to pack as much of a rock punch as you might imagine. The songs are still of a high quality and are in the most part memorable, but the album has a much cleaner sound than rival releases of the day.
Lead singer Steven Tyler hams it up to the best of his microphone-devouring ability, but the album remains good rather than amazing. Buy this for the quality and cleverness of the songs, but don't buy it to rock out to because you will be sorely disappointed.
