Album Review: Cuts Like A Knife (1983)
For fans of: rock... and ballads
Getting closer to his future genius, Bryan Adams hadn't hit full stride with this release.
There are hints of brilliance in the title track. 'This Time' and 'Straight From The Heart' provide ample back-up but the remainder of the album is solid if unexciting.
This is pure rough and ready rock with no pretensions of pop stardom or synthesized excess. You can imagine sitting in a bar in Canada in the early to mid 80's quaffing a pint and enjoying this. Cuts Like A Knife is a very good, maybe even excellent album, but it isn't mind blowing.
Check out... The title track. It may not have the best lyrics ever, but we still like it.
