Album Review: Bad English (Self Titled) (1989)
For fans of: hard rock... and Neal Schon
Bad English were a late 80's/early 90's rock super group consisting of past, present and future members of The Babys and Journey. This, their first album has numerous stunning songs including the smash hit 'When I See You Smile', 'Ghost In Your Heart', 'Price Of Love', 'Heaven Is A Four Letter Word' and more.
The hairstyles on the album cover may have been iffy, but the music certainly wasn't. Neal Schon's guitar work and John Waite's vocals key into each other brilliantly, and the songwriting is beyond reproach. Even Diane Warren makes an appearance here on the 'big' track.
This is one of those albums where's it's quicker to list what you don't like than what you do. There are so many classic songs here it's criminal Bad English weren't given a greater chance for stardom.
Check out... The fact this band weren't bigger. Crazy.
