Album Review: Rock Tribute To Abba (2004)
For fans of: hard rock... and Abba songs crashing into rock classics
Wictory. What a great word. Nope, that wasn't a misprint, that's just how the lead singer pronounces the word victory in 'The Winner Takes It All' and it's very funny.
That aside, this is a great fun album with an interesting rock take on plenty of Abba songs. Black Sweden have merged the Benny/Bjorn masterpieces with rock standards like 'Smoke On The Water' and 'Enter Sandman' to create whole new songs. In the most part the tracks work well. The only cack effort is the afformentioned 'Winner Takes It All' which needs to be taken outside and shot. Twice.
If you can still find this album, buy it. It's great!
