BRAZEN ABBOT - stub review added 24th October 2008
Album Review: My Resurrection (2005)
For fans of: hard rock... and a selection board of singers
Not the most original album title ever, but at least the cover has a stone monk shoeing away some doves whilst a violin burns on a rough sea in a corridor.
In all fairness, and mocking aside, this is a great album. Brazen abbot is the pet project of Finnish rock bloke Nikolo Kotzev, and this album features various vocalists including Joe Lynn Turner, Goran Edman and Tony Harnell. The album flows better than you might expect and, although It doesn't work as well as an album with a single singer, it's perfectly likeable all the same.
A couple of percentage points are lost for the lack of continuity, but the individual songs are absolutely worth a listen. Think of it as a ready-made play list and you'll approach the album with just the right state of mind.
Check out... The Joe Lynn Turner songs. We like JLT. We like BLT too.
