Hmmm.
Buck Satan is the alternative identity of the founder of industrial-metal band Ministry, Al Jourgensen. Rather than industrial though, this band plays bluegrass country with a large hint of rock 'n' roll. And it's rather awful...if you're in any way sober.
The musicianship is fine and does a good job of capturing that American country feel. The songwriting isn't too bad - it isn't great, but it isn't bad. However, Al doing his best impression of a gnarly liquored-up bar room singer is painful in the extreme. The songs are kind-of catchy in a weird way, but his unearthly utterances take the sheen off even that in double quick time.
In Summation:
I reviewed this because of the involvement of several well regarded rock musicians, but i wish I hadn't bothered. It would just about work if you were p*ssed out of your skull and wanted to sing some stupid songs, but I can't imagine any other time anyone would want to hear this. As I originally said, hmmm....
