Album Review: Hey Stoopid (1991)

For fans of: hard rock... and lots of amazing guitarists

Alice Cooper - Hey StoopidGreat follow-up to the classic Trash, Hey Stoopid is another album packed full of brilliantly seedy and addictive songs. For connoisseurs of rampant frettery, this album contains work by plenty of the day's top guitarists including Slash, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Vinnie Moore and Mick Mars. Ozzy Osbourne even makes an appearance on the epic title track.

Just like its predecessor, Hey Stoopid doesn't contain any bad songs. The overall quality may not be as high, and the vibe may not be so consistent, but this is still a brilliant listen. The end track, 'Wind-Up toy' is truly strange and all the more brilliant for it.

Not as good as Trash, but still an essential purchase. Alice may be most famous for 'School's Out', but this helps proves he is so much more than that one song.

Check out... That 'Wind Up Toy' song.
