Album Review: Hell Destroyer (2007)
For fans of: power metal... and songs about bottoms
Any album featuring a song with the line 'Bow down and kiss the ring' is off to a good start. Sadly this is also about as exciting as it gets. Hell Destroyer does very little wrong, but it has practically nothing to distinguish itself in a market overflowing with power metal and big stonking battle lyrics.
Sean Robert Livingston Peck, with a name as grandiose as his singing style, does his best Bruce Dickinson/Rob Rock impression here. The double kick drums and winding rhythmic guitars add their part too, but the end feeling is one of 'heard it all before'.
There's definitely something here if you love the battle metal thing, but if you merely wish to sample this genre there are plenty of better albums out there. Full marks for enthusiasm though...
Check out... The lyrics. Don't laugh.
