Album Review: Supremacy Of Steel (2011)
For fans of: Power Metal
Yes, US band Cage...power metal's most over-the-top band...is back. "Supremacy Of Steel" continues the legend, meaning everything is bigger, faster, more high pitched and louder than everything by everyone else ever.
Like this band already? You'll almost certainly love this. It does everything their other albums do. Hate Cage? This will not change your mind, not one iota. Not heard of them? I strongly suggest you check out some samples on their website or YouTube to make your own mind up. They don't sound like anyone or anything else out there. Is it music? Kind of, but listening to a Cage album is more of a positive ear-destroying experience than anything else.
The only really problem I have with "Supremacy Of Steel" is that I once thought singer Sean Peck guided the band to make this sound because that was all he could do, but then he featured on the last Empires Of Eden album and sounded a million times better than he ever does on a Cage album...so although this release is fine I have a sneaking suspicion the band could rewrite their rule book and create something genuinely astonishing.
In Summation:
This is basically no better or worse than any other Cage album. Buy it if you like them, avoid it if you don't.
