Album Review: Chimaira (Self Titled) (2005)

For fans of: metalcore... and pictures of the mother-in-law

Chimaira - Chimaira Following 2003's epic 'The Impossibility Of Reason', this album was always going to have its work cut out matching its older brother. Songs like 'Nothing Remains' and 'Bloodlust' have a good stab, but they are barely better than the worst songs on their forebear.

This album suffers from a lack of funk leaving it without any measurable character, and even worse it suffers from living in the shadow of what came before. The expectations of this album were so high it had to be amazing. Sadly it's only just about okay.

Check out... The previous album.
