Album Review: The Impossibility Of Reason (2003)

For fans of: metalcore... and uber-heavy music that's still catchy

Chimaira - The Impossibility Of Reason Another one of those albums which, although beyond the normal scope of this site, offers so much it would be rude not to feature it.

This, the second full album from the Ohio band is easily their best. With soaring riffs, a huge rhythm section and an overwhelming sense of funk the album is both brutally heavy and memorable for all the right reasons.

Songs like 'Powertrip', 'Pure Hatred' and 'The Dehumazing Process' are just so damn heavy, but you they make you want to jump round the room head banging and breaking stuff. Even if you're a nun.

This album probably has more catchy tracks than any other super-heavy album out there. I recommend buying it even if you don't normally like this sort of music. It really is that good.

Check out... 'Pictures In The Gold Room'. Mmm, nice.
