Album Review: Out Of The Silence (1989)

For fans of: hard rock... and family friendly music

Dare - Out Of The SilenceThe debut album from Celtic-rock band Dare, Out Of The Silence is produced by the same guy who worked on Mr Mister's 'Broken Wings'. It shows. This is a big sounding record with a fine balance of keyboards, guitars and rhythm.

'Abandon' and 'Into The Fire' start the album in magnificent style. They do sound very 80's, but there's nowt wrong with that. None of the remaining tracks stand out quite as much, but they're all memorable and hugely likeable all the same. This is an album without the highs and lows of most releases. Consistency is the key, and Dare's key is very big and shiny and fits many locks.

A mixture of hard and chilled rock with an overwhelming Celtic spirit, Out Of The Silence is a sublime collection of music. It may err on the side of relaxation, but it'll steal your heart in the process.

Check out... Either of the first two tracks. Both are brilliant..
