Album Review: Demons And Wizards (Self Titled) (1999)
For fans of: power metal... and fantasy rock
With hints of W.A.S.P. at their experimental worst and Germanic battle metal at its best, this album has a busy mixture of sounds. Demons And Wizards is a project made up mostly by members of Iced Earth and Blind Guardian. The sound is dominated by the vocals of Hansi Kürsch who seemingly only has one style of singing. That style does work here though
'Winter Of Souls' and 'Poor Man's Crusade' are great songs, and the whole album has a dreamy storytelling feel to it. You can imagine sitting round a roaring fire in a castle listening to this.
It certainly isn't for everyone, but for fans of the genre this album is a must.
Check out... 'Poor Man's Crusade'.
