Album Review: On Through The Night (1980)
For fans of: hard rock... and bands starting out
First full album from the Sheffield stadium fillers, On Through The Night may not be Def Leppard's most noteworthy release, and it may not have the sound which would later define them, but it is still a fine hard rocking album.
Their early sound was more punk metal than poppy rock, but glimpses of the catchy songwriting were already shining through in dazzling fashion. Sadly the album doesn't stand the test of time as well as some, but it's nice to know where the genius was born.
Check out... 'Hello America'. Sounds like a sell-out, but it clearly worked.
