Album Review: Ten Thousand Fists (2005)
For fans of: alternative metal... and astonishingly good covers of Genesis songs
After the thundering opening/title track, Disturbed's third studio album settles into a constant barrage of quality track after quality track. Few of the songs send shivers down your spine or leave you opened mouthed in awe, but they are generally of a high standard.
David Draiman's unique vocal style, featuring an array of groans and exhalations, makes the album quite unlike anything by other bands. Sadly it also has the effect of making the songs sound a too similar to each other. The cover of The Genesis track 'Land Of Confusion' is, however, brilliant and possibly better than the original.
This album could have scored very, very highly had it not been for the slight lack of variety throughout the album. The songs sound very similar to each other and it's often hard to know where you are in the running order.
Check out... That Genesis cover.
