Album Review: Happiness Is The Road (2011)

For fans of: Hard Rock

Fergie Frederiksen - Happiness Is The RoadDennis “Fergie” Frederiksen is the one-time vocalist of Toto, as well as singer on musical projects including Trillion, LeRoux, Mecca and more. His debut solo album "Equilibrium" came out in 1999. "Happiness Is The Road" is the follow-up, and sees Fergie in fine voice.

With writing credits including Jim Peterik, production by Dennis Ward, and those gorgeous vocals, this was never going to be anything but a superb release. The melodies are sublime, the rhythms amply booming, and catchiness levels always remain in positive territory. In fact it's damned hard to find fault. The only thing I would say is that 'First To Cry' is the exact same song that appeared on the recent House Of Lords album. WTF?

In Summation:

This is a great album. Kind of like the Mecca release from 2002 but with a much harder edge. An essential purchase I'd say!
