Album Review: Hold Your Fire (1992)
For fans of: hard rock... and songs so good they'll make you weep like a b*tch
Firehouse's second album starts with their best and most memorable song, 'Reach For The Sky'. This is an awesome track which automatically sets expectations for the album 'sky high'.
'Rock You Tonight' and 'When I Look Into Your Eyes' continue the theme of great music, and the closing track 'Hold The Dream' is a brilliant, if unusual ballad. The songs that fill in the gaps are not quite so memorable, but there is nothing terrible on the album. C. J. Snare's screechy vocals dominate proceedings as usual, but he does give Firehouse their character and should be applauded for not sounding like the typical cloned hair metal singer.
Another solid Firehouse album, Hold Your Fire is worth more than a single listen. 'Reach For The Sky' and 'Hold The Dream' are worthy of inclusion in any play list.
Check out... 'Hold The Dream', Nice.
