Album Review: Appetite For Destruction (1987)
For fans of: hard rock... and sleazy punky brilliance
Appetite For Destruction is a difficult album to review because it contains some of the best songs of all time in 'Welcome To The Jungle', 'Nightrain', 'Paradise City' and 'Sweet Child Of Mine', but the rest of the songs are less consistent.
This is one of those releases that is now as much about the stories behind the songs as the music itself. Appetite For Destruction is built on hype, but there is plenty of substance to back it up. Don't expect it to be the most astonishing thing you've ever heard, but there is more than enough quality to keep most people happy.
Check out... The sex noises on 'Rocket Queen' are apparently real. How rude!
