Album Review: Ordinary Just Won't Do (2004)
For fans of: hard rock... and music with more pomp than the proms
Excellent final (so far) album by Swedish rocker's Grand Illusion, Ordinary Just Won't Do is a fluffy fantasy ride through the wilder side of soft metal. Songs like '1982', 'Back To Yesterday' and the sublime 'Heaven Or Hell' will blow your mind.
This is one of those sublime albums which is nearly impossible to criticize. Not everybody will 'get' this music. It is way over the top but all the more fabulous for it.
Ordinary Just Won't Do is what heavy metal would sound like if it was a transvestite. You'll know what I mean when you hear it. Possibly.
Check out... 'Back To Yesterday'. Just like the rest of the album, simply brilliant.
