Album Review: Come To My Kingdom (2008)
For fans of: hard rock... and proof they didn't burn themselves out with the last offering
Follow up to the staggeringly great World Upside Down, Come To My Kingdom has a lot to live up to.
Sound wise this is very similar to it's predecessor. The production is vast, the layering as thick as a Himalayan glacier. The songs follow similar paths too, although the riffs aren't quite so rich and complex this time round.
'I Need To Fly' is simply stunning with a slow brooding build up to a chorus that'll blow you into the clouds. 'I Believe' is even better. How House Of Lords get their choruses so big only the gods know. It actually makes you tense listening to the album because you're always waiting for that next massive moment. Good thing is... it always comes.
Although Come To My Kingdom may not be as good as the previous release, it's still a great album by normal measures. Being overshadowed by its overly talented older sibling, in this case, is not a problem.
Check out... How good James Christian's voice sounds.
