Album Review: Crunch (2000)

For fans of: heavy metal... Mr Robert of Rock

Impellitteri - CrunchGuitarist Chris Impellitteri may have one of the most complex names in rock, but his music is pretty simple. This is hairy chested metal for men with beards and women with tattooed bottoms. The guitars are grinding and powered by Thor, the drums and bass chug like a locomotive. The lyrics may have been written by a child with psychological difficulties, but they suit the music down to the ground

Rob Rock sounds just like he always does. If you like him you'll love this. If not, avoid Crunch like you avoid mosquitoes.

The songs vary from the distinctly average to the mind-blowingly good. The overall feeling is of a hugely fun, very heavy album. There are hints of Annihilator, Rob Zombie and numerous European power metal bands in the mix. The end result is up there with Rob Rock's finest work. Full marks Mr Impeller, Mr implelly, Mr Imp... Chris!

Check out... 'Slay The Dragon'. How heavy and f*cking awesome?!
