Album Review: Dance Of Death (2003)

For fans of: heavy metal... and guest at a camp party Eddie

Iron Maiden - Dance Of DeathHeavier and generally faster than the previous release, Dance Of Death is a disappointment. Few of the songs are spectacularly memorable and the album as a whole doesn't have any sort of flow.

The highlight is the surprisingly musical, if slightly silly title track which tells a fantastical movie-script story. The song gradually builds up and, a third of the way through, turns into a classic maiden masterpiece.

The album picks up over the last four songs, but otherwise this is a bland offering, especially compared to all that came before.

Check out... The title track when it flips to orchestral madness.
