Album Review: Powerslave (1984)
For fans of: heavy metal... and Egyptian Eddie
Their fifth album, Powerslave is (as usual) packed with great songs. 'Aces High', '2 Minutes To Midnight' and the title track are the best, although the thirteen and a half minute epic 'Rime Of The Ancient Mariner' is worthy of some ear time.
This isn't Maiden's best work, nor its worse. Powerslave is a solid collection of songs with a few individual moments of genius.
Check out... The silly cover. Do you really think the demonically possessed Eddie wants to look like an Egyptian pharaoh?
