Album Review: Evolution (1979)
For fans of: rock... and bad albums still being good
Lacking the gaggle of great songs of the previous album, Evolution is a disappointing follow-up to Infinity. 'Too Late' and 'Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'' are top-notch tracks, but the remainder are, whilst not bad, lacking a certain something.
Steve Perry is in great voice and the production is fine. New-drummer-to-the-fold Steve Smith does a fine job too, but ultimately the songwriting is relatively flat and uninspiring. I say 'relatively' as even bad Journey is better than most other good bands...
Check out... 'Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin''.
