Album Review: Infinity (1978)
For fans of: rock... and hair so massive it defies description
This may have been Journey's 4th album, but it was the first featuring legendary vocalist Steve Perry. Before his arrival Journey had been more experimental and 'artistic', but on Infinity they became what they are today which is a producer of sublime commercial rock and ballads.
Songs like 'Wheel In The Sky', 'Lights', 'Anytime' and 'Feeling That Way' are still well loved 30 years on, but plenty of the other songs stand the test of time just as well.
Neal Schon's hair may have been 30 feet across at the end of the 70's, but it didn't stop him and his cohorts producing this excellent album. Better was still to come from Journey, but it wasn't a bad way to announce the arrival of Steve Perry to the world.
Check out... 'Wheel In The Sky'. Stunning.
