KELLY KEAGY - stub review added 13th November 2008

Album Review: I'm Alive (2007)

For fans of: hard rock... and Night Ranger

Kelly Keagy - I'm Alive2nd solo album by Night Ranger drummer and vocalist Kelly Keagy, I'm Alive is a fine collection of rock tunes interspersed with some ballads.

Kelly has an easily recognisable voice and, whilst he could never be accused of being the best vocalist in the world, he does have an interesting tone that suits this style of music. Songs like the title track, 'Stolen', 'Back Of Your Mind' and 'Life Worth Remembering' are all excellent. In fact the whole of the first half is a great listen. The second half, however, is somewhat hit and miss. 'Where Are We Now' sounds like a cannibal's dinner party song, and not in a good way.

An album of two halves but still good overall, I'm Alive is worth a purchase even if it's just to laugh at Kelly doing his Paul Simon bit.

Check out... The tribal rhythms in 'Where Are We Now'.
