Album Review: Tides (2007)
For fans of: hard rock... and the theatre
Finnish melodic metallers Leverage have captured a symphonic, almost theatrical sound on Tides. The production is huge, the vocals and musicianship excellent, and the songwriting doesn't let the band down either.
Songs like 'Dreamworld', 'Stranger' and 'Sails' are fine standalone anthems and showcase the talent of this band on their first full length release. The only downside to the album is the lack of variety throughout. Although the songs are memorable and impeccably recorded, many blend into each other and it's often hard to know where you are in the album.
Still, this is a minor complaint and the album is excellent regardless.
Check out... 'Sails'.
