LIMP BIZKIT - stub review added 15th November 2008
Album Review: Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water (2000)
For fans of: alternative metal... and very rude titles
It is impossible to take Limp Bizkit seriously. The title of this album is bad enough, but when you hear Fred Durst's voice your fate will be sealed. If Limp Bizkit are a tongue in cheek creation they are great, if this is all done seriously they are the biggest joke ever (apart from the ones on the Rock Realms Amusement page, obviously).
Still, there are some good tracks here. 'My Generation', 'My Way', 'Rollin'' and 'Take A Look Around' (featured in the film Mission Impossible) are memorable songs with plenty of aggression and catchy hooks. The remaining tracks are less successful and in places the album becomes quite spiteful and unpleasant to listen to.
An album with two personalities, one is about good fun songs, the other is pure filler. Overall, this is a nondescript album with the fortune of a few great moments to save it.
Check out... The meaning of the title. Ew!
