Album Review: Get Heavy (2002)
For fans of: heavy metal... and Gwar's wardrobe
Featuring some of the silliest lyrics you'll ever hear including 'the devil is a loser and he's my bitch', Get Heavy can not be taken seriously. This is a good thing as, if you do try to take this with anything other than a large pinch of salt, it's terrible. Fortunately, tongue in cheek, Lordi's first offering isn't too bad.
'Would You Love A Monsterman?' is a catchy track, but the remaining songs don't stand out. There is a fair amount of repetition, but it's all kind of enjoyable so you just about forgive them.
Not the most auspicious debut, but Get Heavy does set a template which Lordi have improved upon greatly since.
