Album Review: Just Getting Started (2007)
For fans of: hard rock... and decades
2007 release from well liked Canadian rockers Loverboy, Just Getting Started is a superb collection of modern sounding melodic ballads and rock tracks. First full studio album since 1997's Six, which itself was released 10 years after Wildside.
Listening to this, it's a shame Loverboy follow a strict diet of one album every ten years. This is top stuff. Songs like 'Fade To Black', 'The One That Got Away' and 'As Good As It Gets' are excellent, and the title track deserves particular praise for it's upbeat feel.
In reality there isn't a bad song here. This is one of the best feel good albums you'll hear anywhere. Let's hope Loverboy pull their proverbial fingers out and record something new after less than ten years this time...
