Album Review: Universal Cry For Help (2004)
For fans of: alternative metal... and Metallica
Sounding like a raw version of old Metallica amalgamated with Anthrax and various other thrashy bands, Long Time Dead do a lot right on their debut. There are plenty of the catchy riffs and powerful vocals mixed with a live feel that keeps the album sounding angry yet fresh.
'Half-Cocked Smile' is by far the best track and has an aggressive edge that would do any of the big thrash bands justice. The remainder of the album has many great moments, but nothing that particularly stands out. This is more about consistency than one hit wonder-tracks, and for that you have to praise Long Time Dead.
