Album Review: The Eleventh Hour (1983)
For fans of: rock... and elements of campfire storytelling
4th studio album by UK rockers Magnum, The Eleventh Hour features a soothing collection of folk and prog orientated rock tracks.
Bob Catley's voice couldn't be any more perfect for this album. His tone is compulsive and gives the songs a mystical aura that tingles your skin. You really want to settle down in front of a roaring fire with a box of popcorn as you listen. The songs themselves may not be mind blowing, but the consistency of tone and writing is above average.
The Eleventh Hour is a fine record. It isn't an album that'll stick in your mind or get you singing along, and it does take several listens to reveal its true quality, but it's very likeable all the same.
Check out... 'Hit And Run'... and the re-mastered version of this album with loads of bonus tracks.
