Album Review: Marcello-Vestry (Self Titled) (2008)
For fans of: hard rock... and the 80's
Call for messieurs Marcello and Vastry, the 80's are on the phone. They want their songs back...
In all fairness this is an astonishing release that really captures the sound of the hair metal era. The production however is thoroughly modern making the record sound superbly crisp. Frank Vestry has a classic Jon Bon Jovi twang to his voice, and Rob Marcello is a great shredder who generates the perfect heavy yet musical sound for this genre.
An absolute surprise, this album came from nowhere and made a lot of albums suddenly sound staid and obsolete. Released in the late 80's, this would have been a multi-million seller. Marcello-Vestry may have suffered poor timing (by twenty years) but this is awesome anyway.
Check out... That 80's sound.
