Album Review: Bat Out Of Hell II (1993)
For fans of: rock... and the Loaf
Follow-up to Bat Out Of Hell (admittedly 16 years later) this album had much to live up to. With its soaring songs and thoroughly over the top nature, the original album was one of the best loved and highest selling releases ever.
With 2 songs over the 10 minute mark, you could never accuse no.2 of not trying. Titles like 'Objects In The Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are' are in the right direction. 'I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)' and 'Rock 'n' Roll Dreams Come Through' are the best songs, although they are alone in being entirely likeable.
Ultimately this album is up there with it's predecessor. Maybe not quite so perfect but you still need this.
Check out... The unnecessary frippery.
