Album Review: Youthanasia (1994)

For fans of: heavy metal... and album covers that are WRONG, but funny

Megadeth - YouthanasiaMegadeth's 6th album, Youthanasia followed the titanic release that was Countdown To Extinction.

There are a number of excellent tracks, although the overall feeling is Megadeth were trying to be too clever with some. The absolute heaviness of the previous album has been partially lost but Youthanasia is still loud and proud.

A surprisingly good album, the first 3 or 4 tracks make you think Megadeth have lost their trademark style. Fortunately the record then bursts into life and makes you remember why you love this band. Not their best work, but still considerably better than many other metal albums.
