Album Review: Hero Nation (2002)
For fans of: power metal... and the offspring of Atlas and the Terminator
Metalium's third release, Hero Nation is the album that sealed Metalium's fate as also-rans in the power metal field. If they had produced another album like Millennium Metal, the dodgy second album would have been forgotten and Metalium would have been huge. Sadly, they produced another relatively lacklustre effort and the rest is history.
Hero Nation is not a bad release. The overall sound is marginally better than State Of Triumph, but with only one great track in 'Fate Conquered The Power' there isn't a lot to recommend it.
This is a band with so much talent it hurts to see them allowing mediocre offerings to escape the studio. Metalium really could have been the biggest thing in power metal. Instead, you probably haven't even heard of them (unless of course you have).
Check out... Millennium Metal. Much better.
