Album Review: Load (1996)
For fans of: heavy metal... and, er...
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear...
Load is the moment Metallica went wrong. There are some vaguely decent tracks here, but it's all so unlikable. James Hetfield over emphasizes everything he sings, there is barely a hint of heaviness and the album drags on and on with its inane rambling 'rock'.
By another band this album would have just about been okay. It is by no means the worst album ever, but this is Metallica for goodness sakes! They are better than this...or at least they were.
Check out... '2x4' is kind of okay.
