Album Review: Ride The Lightning (1984)

For fans of: thrash... and fabulous instrumentals

Metallica - Ride The LightningSecond studio album from Metallica sees them updating their sound from Kill 'Em All. The production is richer and the songs have more depth and variation. Ride The Lightning is still a thrash album, but it doesn't feature thrash to the exclusion of other styles.

'For Whom The Bell Tolls', ' Fade To Black' and 'Creeping Death' are the best tracks, although 'The Call Of Ktulu' makes for a great instrumental finish the record.

Better than the debut, but the best was still to come from Metallica.

Check out... 'For Whom The Bell Tolls' live in the late 80's. Listen to it on YouTube.
