Album Review: Attack! (2002)
For fans of: neo-classical metal... and big eyes
First Yngwie album to feature Scottish vocalist Doogie White, Attack! is not as instantly rewarding as some of the earlier albums. WIth repeated listens, however, it'll grow on you like mould on rotten food.
Doogie gives the Yngwie sound a new twist, taking the songs in more of a storytelling direction. Yngwie himself even has a go at singing on 'Freedom Isn't Free' and isn't anywhere near as bad as he should be.
Attack! is an excellent album with many great tracks. There are a few lesser moments and, as previously mentioned, the album is not that instant. Give it some time and you'll find plenty to enjoy.
Check out... 'Mad Dog'.
