Album Review: Horrorscope (1991)

For fans of: thrash... and the world's scariest fortune teller

Overkill - HorrorscopeFollow up to the epic The Years Of Decay, Horrorscope is another stunning Overkill release.

Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth sounds even more bonkers than usual, the guitars and production are another step up too. The only stand out song is the title track, but this says more about the overwhelming perfection at work. Not only isn't there a bad moment on the album, you notice numerous flashes of genius and originality often missing from lesser thrash albums. With Horrorscope you get crazy piano interludes, bass so guttural you fear for your speakers and more.

Amazingly this is a better album than The Years Of Decay. There is a consistency from start to finish that amazes. Horrorscope is impossibly heavy yet as catchy as a kid's pop song. Brilliant.

Check out... The title track.
