Album Review: The Years Of Decay (1989)
For fans of: thrash... and songs to send shivers down your spine
4th proper studio album Overkill, The Years Of Decay features a well produced yet raw sound that perfectly captures the band's speed and energy.
Songs like 'Elimination' and 'Years Of Decay' and excellent, but 'Playing With Spiders/Skullkrusher' and 'E.vil N.ever D.ies' totally steal the show. The former is an absolute chugging monster of a track with amazing demonic riffs and slow brooding build-up to the gnarled chorus. The latter is one of the finest meandering thrash masterpieces you will ever hear, period.
An amazing album and proof that Overkill should be much, much bigger than they are.
