Album Review: Bark At The Moon (1983)
For fans of: heavy metal... and WereOzzy
Introducing guitarist Jake E. Lee, Bark At The Moon starts with the massive title track. Randy Rhoads may have been Ozzy's most famed guitarist but Lee made an instant impression with that riff.
Sadly the remainder of the album doesn't live up to the promise of the opening. There are a few good moments but most of Bark At The Moon is pretty uninspiring. Keyboards and multi-layered arrangements feature more strongly than ever before giving parts of the album a prog feel.
Not as good as the previous two albums, but arguably featuring an individually better song than either, Bark At The Moon is a merely average entry in the Ozzy back catalogue.
Check out... That opening riff.
