Album Review: Diary Of A Madman (1981)
For fans of: heavy metal... and Randy Rhodes
Second Ozzy solo album and the final to feature Randy Rhodes before his death in a slightly comedic plane crash. There are good songs in the shape of 'Over The Mountain' and 'You Can't Kill Rock And Roll'. 'Flying High Again' is a fine, if tragically named track.
Just as good as his debut, Diary Of A Madman is a consistently pleasant listen with no massively anthemic moments. Considering the chemicals and toxins Ozzy was pumping through his body during this period of his life, it's a wonder he managed to produce anything of this standard.
Check out... How apt the title was considering Ozzy's antics at the time.
