Album Review: Magic Never Dies (2005)

For fans of: power metal... and Dragonforce's leftovers

Power Quest - Magic Never DiesSounding a bit like a band in the shadow of Dragonforce, Power Quest actually features a couple of ex members of the band... which eventually became Dragonforce.

Magic Never Dies is power metal by numbers. It does have it's moments, but ultimately there is little to remember after repeated listens. There is no denying the talents of the respective members, but the songwriting is quite uninspiring. 'Diamond Sky' is okay, but that is about it.

It's hard criticizing such an obviously talented bunch of guys but they need to make their music more catchy and less frenetic and dull.

Check out... The phone message at the end of 'The Message'. It sounds like they got the local barmaid to record it one drunk evening.

Track List:
