QUIET RIOT - stub review added 27th November 2008
Album Review: Metal Health (1983)
For fans of: hard rock... and rock at its most basic
Fronted by the late great Kevin DuBrow, Quiet Riot sit somewhere between W.A.S.P., Twisted Sister and Slade. This means big drums, simple riffs and thumping rock 'n' roll.
The title track and the cover of Slade's 'Cum On Feel The Noize' are the best tracks on the album. Although fun in an amateurish way, the remainder of the album is not that great.
Watching the videos on YouTube, you can see Quiet Riot were an amazing live act giving every last ounce of energy to their performances. On album, on this one at least, they are nothing special.
Check out... The cover of the Slade song sounds almost identical to the original. Maybe it is the original song. Can anyone tell?
