Album Review: Army Of One (2006)

For fans of: hard rock... and top drummers

Riot - Army Of OneAn enjoyable hard rocking album, Army Of One has numerous stand out moments.

The thumping, pumping 'Knockin At My Door' is the best track, although several other songs are almost as good. There are some seriously heavy moments here, but every last note is controlled and sonorous. This is not an album that contains noise for the sake of it.

Mark Reale, daddy of the Riot project, has created a brilliant album with Army Of One. This is proper hard rock release with the sort of melodies pop acts would die for. Mark's vocals deserve a mention too. He has a great set of pipes with a polished gravel sound that's both rough and silky at the same time.

Check out... Frank Gilchriest's drumming is awesome and gives the album a truly thunderous sound.
