Album Review: Rooster (Self Titled) (2005)

For fans of: alternative rock... and teen rock for grown-ups

Rooster - RoosterTheoretically inspired by bands like Busted and Mcfly, Rooster were actually more of a modern melodic rock act. They may have been aimed by record company bigwigs at the teen pop/rock market, but this was a band with serious musicianship and plenty of technical ability to offer the more discerning listener.

'Joyride', 'Come Get Some' and 'On The Road' are the better tracks, although much of the album is a pleasure to listen to. Some songs do sink into more of a poppy sound, but they really are the exception.

Great debut album by the now defunct Rooster.

Check out... Lead singer Nick Atkinson's voice. This guy has serious potential.
