Album Review: Heart Still Beats (1992)

For fans of: rock... and the quieter end of guitar based music

Say - Heart Still BeatsVery much like a softer version of Toto, Say made a good album here. It sounds early to mid 80's, so it's quite a surprise to see it was released in 1992.

Incorporating elements of funk into their pop-rock sound, this is a lively collection of tracks with a pleasant feel good vibe. The title track is excellent, as are the ballads 'It Doesn't Matter' and 'Nobody Else'. 'Take It' and 'Out Of Your Mind' are nearly as good. To be honest there is nothing bad on the album. Even the slower moments have a certain appeal.

Heart Still Beats is a good if slushy album. Shame it's so hard to get hold of nowadays.

Check out... How similar this sounds to Toto. Not that sounding like Toto is a bad thing....
