SEVENTH KEY - stub review added 3rd December 2008
Album Review: Seventh Key (Self Titled) (2001)
For fans of: hard rock... and annoyingly talented musicians
Something of a collaboration between Billy Greer and Mike Slamer, this album is really Greer's baby. Greer is and has been the bass player with Kansas since 1985, although it turns out he has a wonderfully inviting voice too.
With plenty of upbeat tracks and a few delicate ballads, this self titled debut is a winner from the start. From 'The Kid Could Play' through to the Chicago-esque 'Broken Home', the album contains memorable tracks in the same way a sardine tin contains sardines.
This is a stunning album. The sound is a little shallow and would benefit from a few extra layers, but the quality of songs more than makes up for it. We love!
Check out... 'Every Time It Rains'. It's how the Beatles might sound if they were still recording Beatles style music. Only better.
